Calcium ascorbate dihydrate is the calcium salt of ascorbic acid (vitamin C). Calcium ascorbate is synthesised from ascorbic acid and calcium carbonate. This is a white or slightly yellowish crystalline powder that is freely soluble in water and practically insoluble in ethanol (96%).
