Hops is produced by solvent extraction of the dried membranous cones of Humulus Lupus female hop plants with a food grade solvent such as liquid carbon dioxide. It appears as a light golden to black liquid to semisolid with a distinctive odor. It is slightly soluble in acidified water and soluble in methanol. It complies with the U.S Food and Drug Administration regulations
