Sodium carboxymethylcellulose [CMC] gum powder [Vis. 3500 to 4500 mPas]
Sodium Carboxymethylcellulose is the sodium salt of the carboxymethyl ether of the cellulose. This white to almost white coloured powder is obtained by the reaction of alkali cellulose with the sodium salt of the monochloroacetic acid.
